For years, I've had this vision of doing a solo recording in a peaceful, bucolic setting somewhere off the beaten path. Now it's finally happened! A painful breakup this summer led to an obsession with playing certain songs, and a burning desire to record and release them.
I am producing an album of music that is sparse, raw, and deeply personal, including both originals and covers that mean a lot to me, performed simply with my voice and piano.
I recorded the entire album on September 24 at CedarHouse Sound & Mastering up in New Hampshire, with a listening session and a minor touch-up on one song the following day. The studio is just a few hours from Cumberland, Maine, where my father used to live. Dad passed last fall, and he would have loved this for me. Mixing and mastering are currently in progress, with packaging design, CD production, and digital distribution to follow.
This project is supported by generous album sponsors. I am no longer actively campaigning to raise funds, but contributions to help me cover the project budget are still more than welcome! if you're interested in supporting this venture, being among the first to hear the album as soon as it drops, and getting some other special perks, please scroll down to find the sponsorship levels and frequently asked questions about album crowd-funding.
All the beautiful people in the slideshow below pitched in to help me produce this album. My heart is full of love and gratitude!
