We've lost track of how many years we've been playing at the Irish Festival, in various incarnations. We always look forward to it! It seems like the official start of spring to me. This year, we kicked off the music on the acoustic stage.
Even though it was early in the day, we had a great crowd. This was our view from stage:
We were both all amped up, and I think we played songs a little faster than usual. It's a rush to play in a festival setting. In a lot of venues we play, we have to be concerned with volume control, but not here. I belted it out with reckless abandon -- so much fun!
My friend Kim W. and her daughter Mila came down from northern Virginia to catch our set and hang out at the festival. Mila is an energetic 2 1/2 year-old, and she and I did some dancing and twirling to the music of the bluegrass band that followed our set.
