Summer Tour 2017: Bar Antidote in Vergennes, VT

We went on a morning run down the road and back, about 2.5 miles. Our Airbnb hostess provided fresh eggs from her chickens, so we cooked those up for breakfast. After that we went on a ~4-mile hike up Snake Mountain. I saw and/or heard a bunch of birds including Indigo Bunting, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Red-eyed Vireo, Ovenbird, Wood Thrush, Veery. The view from the summit was lovely, overlooking farmland, some waterbody connected to Lake Champlain, and, in the far distance, the Adirondack Mountains across the border in New York State.

After the hike, we went straight over to Bar Antidote to set up for our show, then back to our home base to shower. It was a fun gig especially because my old high school friend Doug came, along with his father Warren who had been my teacher in 8th grade science back at the American International School of Vienna. What a blast from the past to see them both!

We also chatted with several other people there: a drummer talking about his upcoming gig in Europe (we are jealous); a couple who reminded me of the name of The Tyler Place, a resort where I worked so long ago. Some folks bought CDs. It was a very appreciative, great audience even though not a big crowd.
