I availed myself of the breakfast offerings at the motel. John got breakfast later in West Lebanon, while I shopped unsuccessfully for shoes. Then we drove on to South Hadley, MA, where Anne, my best friend from high school, lives with her husband Mark and their three girls. We got ourselves situated there, in the eldest daughter's room, before heading over to Easthampton to set up at New City Brewery.
This was a really fun gig because of all the people we knew. Anne and Mark came with a bunch of their friends. My dad, his wife Grace, and my sister Elizabeth came along with Rob and Rachel, Dad's friends from way back. And our pal Dan T, whom we'd met awhile ago at some gig in Virginia when he was passing through, was there with some friends as well.
After the show, we went out to dinner with my family, then had drinks on the porch back at Anne and Mark's place.
