I just turned (mumble mumble) years old on Tuesday. A surprise came in my email the next day: an honorable mention for a song I'd entered in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest sometime last year. And it was NOT in the “folk” or “Americana” category…
I've entered quite a few songs in quite a few contests over the years, and never gotten any traction, so this was a nice little boost. It also motivated me to create a lyrics video for the song.
